Education
- D.Phil., University of Oxford: Theology, Ecclesiastical History (2007)
- M.St., University of Oxford: Theology, Ecclesiastical History (2002)
- B.A., Gordon College, Wenham, MA: English Language and Literature (2001)
Dr. Yonan teaches the year-long Western Civilization seminar and the second-semester Justice seminar, both taken by all first-year students in the Templeton Honors College. His academic curiosity mainly focuses on modern Christian history, especially eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European intellectual history.
He has presented research in Ireland, England, Germany, and America and is currently writing a book on the Moravian Church in enlightenment Europe.
He keenly enjoys reading Luther, Calvin, Zinzendorf, Schleiermacher, and novelists such as Joyce, Woolf, and Updike. But none of these things can dull his love of either good food or good baseball.
